Biography

Chris began studying the guitar at the age of fourteen and has since had many important teachers including Sasha Levtov (Artistic Director of the West Sussex Guitar Club), Roberto Gonzalez and most recently Chris has studied with Royal College Professor Gary Ryan.

Chris has been teaching regularly for sometime now within the West Sussex area and has many pupils ranging in both age and ability. Many of his pupils have been entered for practical exams in which he has a 100% pass rate for his pupils. Chris also runs two guitar ensembles, one for juniors and one for adults. As well as teaching privately, Chris also teaches at a number of music schools.

Chris has won many top prizes at a number of music festivals, which include Chichester, West Sussex, Portsmouth, Reigate and Hastings; he also won the prestigious Robert Headley Music Award in 2008 (never before won by a guitarist). Chris performs regularly as a soloist but also performs as part guitar ensemble and also works with many other performers. He has taken part in both the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain and Winchester Guitar Festival.

Chris has taken part in many Master-Classes with a number of great musicians such as Xuefei Yang, Helen Sanderson, Amanda Cook and Edoardo Catemario. Chris has also had lessons/classes with John Mills (Professor at Royal Academy), Fiona Harrison, The Eden and Stell Duo and Vincent Lindsey-Clark. Chris has performed at a number of prestigious venues including Chichester Cathedral, Bognor Music Club, Leconfield Hand one of Raymond Blanc's restaurants and many others too.
